History of Bird Aviary

The bird aviary project was initiated by the Capital Development Authority and completed in 2013. Islamabad Bird Park manages the Aviary, which is responsible for caring for the birds’ diet, environment, and health. The facility is made up of vast cages to make sure the birds have ample space for flight. Visitors can also roam freely in the park and watch the birds live in a semi-natural habitat. The park also has Ponds where aquatic birds like ducks can be seen swimming freely.

You can spot small birds like parrots, doves, pigeons, ducks and giant eye-catching birds like peacocks, ostriches, and cranes.

Peacocks

Peacocks, also known as peafowl, are the most beautiful members of the pheasant family. The blue and green peacocks we know are males famous for their 60 inches long, vibrant colored feathers. It’s a tremendous ornamental bird, and everyone seems to be waiting for the peacocks to spread their feathers and reveal the exquisite pattern. The bird aviary is home to several beautiful peacocks and peahens. Peahens are of pearl white color, and they are beautiful in their way.

Pelicans at Bird Aviary

Australian Parrots

They live on vegetation but beware of not feeding them as they are strong birds that may become aggressive. They can attack with claws and legs, so you will find them enclosed in the bird aviary. The net walls are tall, but you can easily spot them as they run around, producing a thumping sound.

Turkey Bird

It can be visited from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. To make sure the natural habitat of these birds is not disturbed, the Aviary closes a little early, so make sure to visit at a time when you have at least 2 or 3 three hours to explore the facility to the max.
